Pico Logo lure

Pico Logo lure, made in the USA

The logo is inside the lure and sealed using high quality urethane so that it will not scratch off. Fish never take only the logo even if they want! It is a very good novelty item as well as a good fishing lure. Now, I'm imagining what kind of logos and artworks to put inside it and what kind of outer colors look beautiful matching with them. It is a lot of fun thinking about custom-made fishing lures during off seasons.

Who's autograph?

An autograph of genius lure inventor. Yes, it is Tom Mann's.
I recently happened to find and got this lure.
It was much bigger than I expected, so I decided to display it on a wall of my study.

Not Nip-I but

Walkin' Diddee lures made by Genuine Crankbait Brand, which was a division of Luhr Jensen in the late 1980s -1990s. I'm wondering if Southbend or Evans made Walkin' Diddees for sale, but all I have seen were Crankbait's or Luhr Jensen's. I like the bigger ones (3/4 oz), but now these lures, even the smaller ones, are very difficult to find. It may be only proper, because almost 25 years have passed since these were made.

It is a holiday (National Foundation Day) today. I was thinking to go out, but the weather is not good and I'm hesitating. Since last month, I've been making lists of my fishing tackle and they're nearly done. What I knew is that I can't tell my wife how many (thousands of) lures, how many (hundreds of) reels and rods I have in my room. She never counted them. Anyway, who can tell how many is enough.

I also started to prepare for the next fishing season. I picked up these lures from my stock or collection boxes and put them in two user boxes. Then I'll make a short list of lures to go fishing with. I tried to find something a little out of the ordinary, but they're not so different at all...

Dillinger

Speaking of Eger, I like Dillenger lures as well Sweet 16. There're some variations in Dillinger lures, and those with props are very popular and collectible, but what I like best are plastic stick baits. As you can see on the packages, they're sold by Rhoden Engerprises.

The middle one is a NIP (never opened) Dillinger in a spotted ape color (also called a Jim Pfeffer's shiner or Mr Limpet). What a nice looking lure, it is!

Sweet 16

These are 'Sweet 16' made by Eger. The name sounds nice, as nice as 'Lucky 13'.
Almost thirty years have passed since I was 16, and I don't remind well whether my life of that age was really sweet or not.

Inventory 2

We had a little snowfall this morning.

Today, I finished making inventory of my rods. I didn't know I had this many ABU old rods.
Diplomat, Caster, Duet, Suecia, and so on. ABU rods look very beautiful, but their line guides are old-fashioned. They're all for my collection, not for fishing.

In the afternoon, I also finished Fred Arbogast, Gilmore, and Smithwick collections. The rests are 5-6 boxes, 2 cabinets and walls of my room. I'd like to finish completely before the fishing season starts.

Inventory

Clouds are thick and stay very low. It is freezing cold out.
Earlier this month, it is a little unusual for me, but I caught a cold and couldn't go out for fun. In the meantime, I started making an inventory of my fishing tackle. I have not finished it, yet, and now the number of only Heddon lures has already turned 1,000. That of ABU reels has reached 100. I have no idea about how many is enough, though I use only a few of them at a time of fishing.

Today, I'm counting my Mr Don rods (products of Ebisu Japan). One of them is a special pack rod in a hard aluminum tube (PC 50PB). Originally the rod had a straight handle, but I had exchanged it to a Fuji GA handle to taste. I have used it only a few times, but it is the best rod when you want to be minimalistic with your tackle.

My dog often comes in the way while I'm making a list.
