The weather forecast said it would rain calmly before a storm, so I could not wait to go out. I fished one hour just during 4:30-05:30 in the morning just before going to work. It was lucky to catch a fish in such a short time fishing.
My breaths were so deep just before catching the bass. Just let me offer excuses, I'm a runner who always breathe from the abdomen .The lure was Bass Oreno. I wondered which color to cast first, yellow or red head, and I decided to tie this one first.

Today's tackle (I used my favorite ones today):
ABU Record, Phillipson Master M60, Stren 14lb (Clear Blue), Southbend Bass Oreno, Heddon Zaragossa, Pico Plunker, Harrison Bass Frog (2nd), etc. Again, the waders Simms G4Z worked perfectly.
I caught this fish with a Chugger Spook (XRY color) at 04:44 near a fallen tree. Not so big, but very fat, presumably a female bass. It was a good first step early in the morning, but I caught no bites and no fish after it. I'm afraid this slow fishing was maybe because of the cold weather during this week.

Today's tackle:
ABU Royal Plus (4600FL), Mr Don MW59N w/Fui cork grip, Stren 14lb (gold), Heddon Chugger Spook. Today, I tried my new Simms G4Z waders. I custom-ordered one with larger stocking-foot, and they worked perfectly for me.
It's been warm and sunny this weekend, and we went fishing with our daughters. We used live bait (a kind of sandworm, Ishi-gokai) to catch Japanese sillago (left column in the picture), which is called 'Kiss' in Japanese. Our daughters enjoyed catching them, and after we're back they did a painting and then cooked them.

These are my favorite heavy sinking minnows named 'D-contact' made by SMITH LTD. A few days ago, I bought one with a loach color (middle) and found a pair of strange black paint on the side of the lip. I carefully watched them and noticed they're whiskers (vibrissae). Nice paint, aren't they?
I woke up at 03:00, early in the morning (my wife says it is mid-night), and went fishing. I got skunked in the first pond, and then went to another. There, I could catch this nice bass with a Heddon Zara Spook in GRA color, which is one of my favorite lures. It was very lucky that the tail hook of the lure was hooked at the best place of the fish, the hard part of the mouth (side of the upper jaw).

Today's tackle:
ABU Royal, Fenwick SP634, Stren 14lb (gold), Heddon Original Zara Spook
I'm planning to go out for trout fishing this year. Today, I custom-tuned some of my old spoons with abalone sheets. Such sheets were very expensive about 10 years ago, but nowadays it's getting more and more easy to get them at cheaper price in fishing tackle shops here. I bought a couple of sheets for squid lures, but they're very thin and good for spoons, too. They come with double-stick sheets on one side, so all you have to do is to cut the sheet, put it on the spoon, and coat the surface by an instant glue. They're very attractive and productive in the water.

During this past off-season, I custom-built three rods using old Fenwick rod blanks. The top is made of a Fenglass SP634, the middle is SP621, and the bottom is HMG GSP661. I can't wait to use them.
