I've been too lazy renewing my weblog. Here are pics of my fishing activities in Sep-Nov. 2019.

Late summer bass
I took a day off and went fishing to catch the first bass in this month. A big rainy front has been staying around here, and we have much rainfall this week. I prepared more light-colored lures than usual.
In the first pond I visited, I caught a couple of bass but all were small.
Then, I headed to another pond that I have never been to before. I had a difficulty to find a route to go there, but finally got there. Water quality was nice there, and almost half of the water surface was covered by aquatic plants. As soon as I re-started fishing, a nice blackish bass hit my Pop R.
I changed lures to a Heddon Zara Spook, and cast it to a different spot surrounded by floating weeds. Another nice one with a yellowish belly quietly took my Zara Spook into its mouth, and I set a hook hard. It was a hard fighter with a big tail, but I finally caught it.

I wanted to enjoy fishing more, but I had to stop fishing due to hard rain with occasional thunders. Better be safe than sorry.

Chugger Spook YBS
May is going to be over before I know it. I went fishing for only one hour early in the morning to catch the last bass of this month.
I started with Heddon Big Bud and Dalton Twist, but soon changed to Chugger Spook (YBS, yellow with black spots), which I sharpened hooks of. I like these Chugger Spooks manufactured in the early production era very much, because their buoyancy is a little different from later ones. Anyway, I could caught a bass (not so big) with the YBS Chugger Spook, and I'm satisfied with the result. Now, I'm in rush to go on a business trip...

Heddon SOS
I took a makeup day off today, and went fishing. I headed down southern area of our prefecture, about one-hour drive from here. I expected a good fishing, but as usual reality was much worse than expectation. While I fished from the dawn until the noon, in a total of 5-6 ponds, I got only two small bites and caught only one bass with an old Heddon SOS (wood prop bait). It was a nice fat bass, but I wanted to catch a couple of more...
Today's tackle: ABU Ambassadeur 5500CA, Fenwick Iron Hawk 62CLJ, Daiwa sight Surf #5, Dalton Twist, Heddon SOS, Wounded Spook, Chugger Spook, Lucky 13, etc.

New era fish
It's the first day of the new Imperial era of Japan today. A cold front passed through our area yesterday and kept raining through the night. I almost gave up going fishing when I woke up, but I had a second thought that the storm may have activated big bass.
The result was awesome. I got skunked in the first pond, and got a couple of SMALL ones in the second one. Anyway, they were new-era fish for me, and it was much better to go out for fishing than to stay home or to go to work.

Dalton Twist and Heddon Basser
It was too windy and cold last night, so I was afraid I won't be in the mood to go fishing, but when I got up at 03:30 am, I felt the weather get much calmer. I decided to go fishing, and immediately prepared.
The fishing was much better than I expected, I could catch two nice bass with a Dalton Twist in hot tiger color. It is a noisy type bait, but I used it just like a pencil bait. I cast it, waited until the water ripples disappeared, and then gave it dog-walk actions slowly. I took longer pauses than usual before I knew it, then both bass hit it during the pauses.
Today's tackle: ABU Ambassadeur Mag II, Mr Don 'Dog Fighter' MW59N, Daiwa Sight Surf #5, Dalton Twist, Heddon Basser, Rebel Jumpin' Minnow, etc.

I was almost about to go home, but I found a small roll of water surface in a little far shallow area. I headed there, and long-cast a red head Heddon Basser. As I suggested, it was a bass and I could catch it, too. This bass may be the smallest during this fishing season for me, but I like this way of fishing going with my gut.
