Harrison frogs

I cast rubber frogs yesterday for the first time in about 10 years. In small farm ponds around here, many kinds of water vegetation are floating, and I believe frog lures are productive in such situations. Three Harrison brothers (Bass Frog, Super Frog), my favorite frogs.

Today, I got up early (03:00 AM) in the morning and visited several small ponds near our place. In the first pond, I got a couple of bites but skunked. You might enjoy a short movie of big splash hitting my lure (Heddon Zara II in GRA), though it didn't hook the fish.

In another pond, where I'd never fished before, I could catch two nice bass. One with Heddon Chugger Spook in LBS color, and one with Wounded Spook in SD color. The water quality there was very good, and both of the fish were beautiful.
I used one of my favorite fishing tackle today. W/famous ABU as you well know, Phillipson 3M F562 rod (hand-made by myself) and Stren Clear-blue 14lb tested.

Chugger Spook

I went float-tube fishing again this morning. I got no bites in the first pond I visited. I drove all around and floated in a small pond that I fished for the first time. All of a sudden, this fish tried to grab away my Chugger Spook. She was an after-spawning lean fish. W/ ABU 5000C DeLuxe, Fenwick 2054 (restored) and Stren Golden 12lb tested.

Bass Oreno

I cast a fluorescent yellow Bass Oreno near a patch of floating grass and gave it a trembling action then a pause. Within a blink, and the water surface suddenly broke with a big splash. This nice fish was a good fighter. I later got another bite on a Zara II in GRA color, but this time the fish (or another creature?) escaped. W/ ABU 5000C DeLuxe, Fenwick 2053 (restored) and Stren Golden 12lb tested.

Canoe fishing

I fished the first of this season from my canoe. The lake is surrounded by flat land and lush reeds. The weather forecast was a calm rainy day, but it turned very windy after dawn. My good friend and I caught one small bass each and left the lake early.
