I think the best bass fishing season is just around the corner, but have not had good chances to go lately. I checked and cleaned my old Phillipson glass fiber rods in my room. These great rods are timeless.
We chartered a saltwater fishing boat In Wakasa bay and used frozen shrimps for bait. Our main target was red snapper, but we had a hard time on the sea. I caught only a few fish as shown.
It was rainy and I did not want to slip and fall in the mud. So, I wore Montrail Continental Divide shoes which are super for such a trail.
On a trail near my city, I often see a family of wild fox. At first, I supposed they were Shiba, a breed of Japanese dog, but they do have a much long tail than Shiba. This picture was taken from a distance.
I have been interested in this Finetrack water repellent underwear so I visited a shop to pick up a sleeveless one. They recommend wearing it under a regular base layer, so I combined it with a Patagonia capilene. I wore it during a regular run of about 13 km and it felt excellentl. However, it may be difficult to wash.
I got one bite on a Heddon Lucky 13 in D (Dace color), but the fish on the other side of my line easily ditched. Only tooth mark was left on the body of the lure. I have often felt light stiff shoulders since this spring, and am now trying shorter rods. Still very poor at using such rods.
The starter was Heddon Zara II in GRA as I tried last time. Tiny fish picked it a couple of times, but they were not hooked. I changed it to Pico Pop with a feathered tail hook, and then this fish raised a spray of water. I set a hook sharply from a wobbling floating tube and finally caught her. Nice bass, 46cm in TL.

I went out fishing in a small farm pond near our place. A fish (presumably a bass) got out of my Zara II (tuned to NLT, GRA), as the line was not tight enough. Then, a large catfish bit my Chugger Spook, though it was already daytime.
